Sustain T&T
Green Screen Environmental Film Festival 2025
Our Role: Experiences
The Challenge:
Producing the Green Screen Environmental Film Festival alongside NGO Sustain T&T required a blend of creativity and conscience. In keeping with the festival’s mission, every element of production had to be eco-friendly. We couldn't just "look" green; we had to be green, minimising waste and reducing our carbon footprint. As a non-profit initiative, the budget was lean.
We needed to achieve a "big-budget" impact while remaining fiscally conservative. The festival needed to evolve in stature and attract larger audiences without losing the "grassroots" soul that the local film community treasures. We needed to design an awards ceremony that felt significant and celebratory for the filmmakers, ensuring their work was honoured in a high-value setting.
The Solution
We approached this project with a “less is more” philosophy, focusing on high-impact, low-waste solutions that prioritised atmosphere over excess. We swapped traditional, single-use decor for up-cycled materials, digital branding, and featured a moss-sign that could be reused for future iterations of the festival. This ensured the event’s physical footprint matched its environmental message.
The Result
The Green Screen Environmental Film Festival proved that sustainability and sophistication are not mutually exclusive. The awards ceremony was a highlight of the festival, with filmmakers expressing a deep sense of pride in seeing their work recognised among their peers. By meeting the strict sustainability requirements and staying within a conservative budget, we helped Sustain T&T deliver a powerful, authentic experience that continues to be a cornerstone of the regional film calendar.
